Ask Me About:
What are the 5 main problems with life insurance from your employer?
If any of the items below are true for your policy, your life insurance coverage may be a check your family CAN NOT cash…
Here are some issues we have found with other clients.
1. Exclusions – Does your policy have exclusions?
One horrific exclusion can be an alcohol exclusion, we had a client who had one drink and was driving home from a picnic, they were hit by another driver and did not survive. The life insurance policy from their work did not pay out since they had 1 drink! Luckily, they had another policy with Farmers which helped the family take care of their bills.
2. Is it Life Insurance / Accidental Death / or a mixture of the two?
If your coverage is an accidental death and you pass away from anything other than an accident, your family will NOT receive the money?
3. Is it enough coverage?
Most times the policy will cover 1-2 years of your income, which means your loved ones will have to make major changes shortly after you are gone.
4. Rising cost.
Most policies increase their costs in 5-year age bands meaning ages 30-35 is one price and ages 36-40 is a higher cost, and so on as we get older.
At some point, this will cost too much. We can provide you a level cost.
5. If you change jobs will you still have insurance?
If your life insurance is not able to be transferred, you may not qualify for it in the future or you may not be able to continue to afford it when the discounts from your employer are removed.
What else is missing??? We do not know until we look, let's discuss this today!
