Flood Awareness

Flood Awareness
Just a little water can damage your home or vehicle in a big way. Come by my office to learn how flood insurance can help you from getting soaked.
Boat Insurance, Mobile Home Insurance, Manufactured Home Insurance, Motorcycle Insurance, ATV & Golf Cart insurance, and RV Insurance!
Did you know? We offer Boat, RV, Motorcycle, and ATV insurance! We usually refer to these items as our Specialty items or Specialty insurance. We also sometimes call these toys, because these items are often for relaxation or a change of pace from the everyday items. Many people think of the Maxie Insurance Agency for Auto, Business, Home, and Life Insurance¹. However, they don't always think of us for the Specialty items. Summertime seems to be the popular time of year for Boat insurance and motorcycle insurance. The warmer weather makes people want to go out and have a bit of fun. The ATV insurance and RV insurance are popular all year round. Here in the Spring/Tomball area you'll find many toys! Mobile homes are also part of our Specialty category. There are many mobile and manufactured homes in the Spring, Tomball are, as-well-as next door in Montgomery County. Mobile home insurance is popular at our agency. There are a few neighboring mobile home communities by our office. The Maxie Insurance Agency is always happy to talk with you about your insurance protection. It's starting to get cold outside, so come by and have a cup of coffee with us! We look forward to hearing from you soon!
What Is A Texas Flood? Well...everything is bigger in Texas. Therefore a flood in Texas could be devastating! The Maxie Insurance Agency would like to help you prepare by offering flood insurance.
Below you will find news and information that we think you might find important: If you live in Texas you are most likely aware of all the rain as of late, and the potential of flooding. All the local news stations, as-well-as some of the national newscasters have been reporting on the different areas of Texas that have been flooding and/or that have the potential of flooding. Texas has many lakes, bayous, and other bodies of water that can rise above their banks and flood the neighboring homes and communities. Even areas without the bodies of water can flood due to the continuous rain. You may own or rent or you may live in a home or be purchasing a home, but regardless of where you call home flooding should always be a concern in Texas. Most home owner's policies do not cover flooding, and to be protected from these floods a separate policy needs to be purchased. Since standard Homeowners insurance doesn't cover flooding, it's important to have protection from the floods associated with hurricanes, tropical storms, heavy rains and other conditions that impact the U.S. For residents of High-Risk Areas, Floodsmart.gov says, "Homes and buildings in high-risk flood areas with mortgages from federally regulated or insured lenders are required to have flood insurance. In high-risk areas, there is at least a 1 in 4 chance of flooding during a 30-year mortgage." April 1st brought about many changes for Flood insurance. Those that currently have Flood insurance and/or that have been looking into Flood insurance need to be aware of these changes. Some people are located in a flood zone, so their mortgagee may have required Flood insurance. Some people may think that they do not need Flood insurance because they are not in a flood zone, but anywhere it rains, it can flood. If you are not in a flood zone you'll find better pricing for flood insurance. Additionally, the flood maps change. You may find you are now in a flood zone, where as you were not when you purchased your home. There is much to learn and know about Flood insurance. For clients the best thing to remember is to get Flood insurance. Now is a great example of why to get it. You can ask our agency, or of course your current agent, about Flood insurance and/or about purchasing a flood policy. You can also get great information from the National Flood Insurance Program. You can go to their site at: https://www.floodsmart.gov/floodsmart Make sure you are prepared. Make a plan before you experience a flood.
Workman's Comp Insurance in Texas. Workman's Comp insurance for local businesses in Spring, TX, Tomball, TX, The Woodlands, TX, Montgomery, TX, Klein, TX, and Houston, TX.
What? Who? Why? There are many costs and concerns when you run a business. Large or small, a business has to prepare for the unexpected. We should prepare protection for our business for/from our products, service, customers, and employees. Employee injuries tend to be overlooked in insurance preparation, especially here in Texas. Texas is only one of a couple of states that does not require a business to purchase a Workers Compensation policy. Many people think that Workers Compensation is, or will be, a part of their business owner policy or will be included in the liability. Some owners or managers just overlook this coverage while they are working on all of their other insurance needs. The potential costs should make every business owner purchase Workers Compensation insurance. Many business owners will purchase this insurance out of a general concern for their employees. They consider it a type of benefit to the employees. The industry, payroll, and the number of employees are the major factors for most policies. Along with the many other types of insurance and protection, our office offers the information required for the Workers Compensation to help make the process simple. It usually still calls for good accounting of payroll. Our office works with many different industries on protection for their business. We find employee protection is one of the larger, most overlooked, areas. If this information is new to you, or if you have some questions, please feel free to give our office a call. It doesn't matter if you are here in Spring, Texas or Tomball, Texas we would love to help your with your Workers Compensation in any Texas city. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
