For every homeowners policy I write, we discuss sewer and drain back up coverage. There are some of my clients that turn that coverage down. There are others that listen to my advice and agree to add this endorsement on their policy. In the last 3 weeks, I have had a number of phone calls from customers with water either pouring into their basements or backing up through the sewer system. I have had each client in a crisis handle a basement flooding issue in a different way. The water and sewer endorsement provides piece of mind, when you purchase this extended coverage, your bad day will be much better simply because you now have options! When you have options, the little extra money you pay is more then worth it. Picture in your mind, when you have two feet of raw sewage in your basement at 2:30 in the morning, what am I going to do?
