When we opened up our office in Dover, Ohio seven years ago, we picked a location that was prominent in physical location, but we also wanted to create a space that would become prominent and respected in our community as well as around all the Tuscarawas Valley. We strive to create a family-like atmosphere, and love serving families from Dover, New Philadelphia, Strasburg, Sugarcreek, Bolivar, Dennison, Uhrichsville, and other surrounding areas in Ohio. We hold a firm belief in the ideals of serving people in every capacity possible and we wanted to create a reputation of being givers and servers in the community, not just another business looking to make a profit off of the local residents for only our benefit.

Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory
John W. Toland and his wife, Marguerite, founded the Toland Funeral Home on the corner of Slingluff Ave. and Walnut St. in 1929. He had been employed by the Boyd Furniture and Funeral Company in Dover. In 1935, they purchased the Toomey home at the funeral home's current location at 803 N. Wooster Ave. in Dover. Richard Herzig of Dover married John and Marguerite's daughter, Marilyn and joined the business in 1950.
Following it's purchase, the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in New Philadelphia went through a complete ten month renovation and opened in May, 2003. Maintaining the charm and character of the existing building, the New Philadelphia location is also equipped with a state of the art audio visual sytem that maximizes the use of Toland-Herzig's signature memorial tribute videos.
