3 Questions About Life Insurance…

3 Questions About Life Insurance…
3 Questions About Life Insurance…

It’s doubtful that any website could answer all your questions about life insurance. In fact, there may even be questions about life insurance that you haven’t even considered. That’s why I’m here - to answer your questions, fill in the blanks and guide you to sound decisions for yourself and your family.

Life insurance is nothing short of a gift to those who are left behind. And like any meaningful gift, it’s no place to skimp or make uninformed decisions. Many factors go into the selection of appropriate coverage at any stage of life.

By way of illustrating that point, consider my brief answers to the following three questions:

Q: Why should I purchase life insurance for my newborn?
A: A child’s life insurance premium will never be lower than when he or she is an infant. Insuring a newborn provides coverage at a point in life before a eventual health condition could significantly raise the rate or render the individual uninsurable.

Q: I have savings, investments and assets that will cover final expenses. Why do I need life insurance in addition?
A: The difference between life insurance and other assets is that the proceeds of a life insurance policy are immediately liquid upon the death of the insured, whereas other assets may be unavailable for some time.

Q: Bottom line: Is life insurance really worth the expense? How will having it benefit my family?
A: A death in the family is a tremendously stressful event. The immediate influx of funds* can help the family by enabling them to cover lost income and expenses at a difficult time.

I hope this has addressed some life insurance basics. Call me at 708-957-2050 or stop by my office in Flossmoor, Illinois for more detailed and personalized answers. I look forward to helping you protect your family.

Farmers® Thank America’s Teachers grant check presented at Columbia Central School in Steger, Illinois
I am so proud to have participated in a recent award ceremony at Columbia Central School in Steger, Illinois. The honor bestowed upon two teachers from that school came in the form of two grants in the amount of $2500 each as winners in the Farmers Thank America’s Teachers contest. It was my privilege to be in attendance on August 24 as teachers Matthew Maple and Ann Geraci were awarded their prize at an assembly on Teacher Institute Day, attended by district administrators and staff during the opening address by Superintendent Dr. Pat Hahto.

How did the opportunity to win these grants come about? Having been thanked by appreciative students as part of Farmers Thank America’s Teachers contest, earlier this year, Ann and Matt were invited to submit a proposal for what they would do with a $2500 grant award. Enthusiastic voters cast their votes and when they were tallied, the two teachers from Columbia Central had garnered the most. Their winning proposals were:

Mr. Matthew Maple
“Our 8th grade students at our school have the chance to fly to Washington, D.C., and visit our Nation's capital. This is the trip of a lifetime. Students, many for the first time, get to experience what it is like to fly on an airplane, stay in a hotel, and discover our nation's capital on foot. Each student that comes back from this trip has told me personally how life changing this trip was. It opened their eyes to a world that they never knew existed beyond the city limits of Steger, Illinois. For some this may be the only chance they have at taking a trip like this, for others, it may be a very long time until they get this opportunity again. On this trip, memories of a lifetime are created, and explored.”

Mrs. Ann Geraci
“At Columbia Central School, eighth graders have the opportunity to take a field trip to Washington, DC. It is an amazing experience and a trip that our students will remember for the rest of their lives. Sadly, only about a third of our eighth graders attend. The trip is expensive, and many students do not attend because their families cannot afford it. This is unacceptable. Should our students be denied this learning opportunity simply because it is cost-prohibitive? As a teacher, I reject the notion that any of our students should have to forego this field trip. For this reason, I am submitting the following proposal to Farmers Insurance Thank a Million Teachers contest: should I win a $2500 grant, the proceeds will be placed into a dedicated fund to reduce the cost for Columbia Central's students to attend the Washington trip. Our students represent our future, and as such they deserve the best educational experiences we can provide, regardless of economic standing.”

According to school principal, Mike Smith, the award money will lower the cost of the trip by about $100 per student.

As a Farmers agent, I’m proud to represent a company that rewards the teachers who work so hard to educate and inspire the youth of America. Herb’s History of Helping
Herb’s History of Helping
Insurance is all about relationships. The relationship you have with your family. The relationship you have with your home. The relationship you have with your automobile, your possessions, your business, your health. It’s important to protect all those precious relationships - and that’s what insurance enables you to do. You want to have a relationship with the person who handles your insurance coverage, as well; feeling that he has your best interests at heart.

And since every relationship begins with an introduction, I extend my hand to you in greeting and say: “Hi, I’m Herb Mason and I’m proud to represent Farmers® Insurance.

You know, it’s no accident that I work in this field. As an insurance agent, I have the opportunity to continue the “history of helping” that has been the focus of my career throughout my life. From position to position through the years, the overriding force behind my professional enthusiasm has been my desire to provide outstanding service to customers. I’ve worked in the finance and insurance field for over 25 years - six of them with Farmers - so it’s clear that I’m in this for the long haul.

As a Farmers Agent, I’m dedicated to helping you assess what is precious in your life and take steps to protect it. I work for you, lending the benefit of my personal and professional experience to assist you to do what it takes now to make sure you have the peace of mind and financial resources you’ll need should disaster strike. I’ll guide and educate you; enabling you to choose the insurance products that best fit your needs and circumstances.

Insurance is so much more than a “necessary evil” - it’s the surest measure of protection you can provide your family. And being a Farmers Agent is so much more to me than how I earn my living; it’s how I demonstrate my passion for supporting your success; insuring your assets to enable you to achieve your ambitions.

Contact me and we’ll discuss how I can build a history of helping you and your family.
Farmers Friendly Review Service
Farmers Friendly Review Service

Farmers® agents provide this service in person or online to help you review your existing coverage, so you can decide how to keep up with your changing insurance needs.

As your life changes, maybe your policy should too

Changes in your life can add up to changes in insurance needs. A change in marital status, the birth of a child or the purchase of a new home are just a few examples of life events that may create overlaps or gaps in your coverage.

Review your coverage and possibly save money

Just as you continue to change and grow,  Farmers® has been growing for over 85 years. A Farmers® customer can be the first to enjoy access to new benefits (like when we became the first insurance group to offer a discount for alternative-fuel vehicles).  Talk to us about a Farmers Friendly Review® - we can provide you with insurance options and discuss any available discounts for which you may qualify so you can select the coverage that best fits your needs.

How often should you have a Farmers Friendly Review® session?

We recommend a Farmers Friendly Review® at least once a year or whenever you have a qualifying life event change. If you like, I can even set a reminder for us to keep an annual appointment to discuss your changing coverage needs.

Give us a call to set up your Farmers Friendly Review®.
