Meet The Hurleys
Adventure Awaits Toys & Games was started in September of 2019 by Jeff and Brandi Hurley. We started the business for a lot of reasons. First, we knew we wanted to do something for ourselves. We spent years working for different businesses, and knew that our growth potential was limited within those companies. Second, we wanted to do something for our town. Danville didn’t have a toy store or a board game store at the time we opened, so we saw an opportunity there to improve our community. We hate it when people say they hate where they live, but don’t do anything to make it better. We believe that if you’re not willing to do anything to improve your community, to make your life better in some way, then you have no right to complain. Third, and most importantly, we wanted to do something for our kids. We wanted a job we could bring our kids to, a place where they could have fun growing up, and hopefully in the future, a place they could take over and continue the family business.
So what is our store all about? What do we sell? Well, we have a big focus on high quality, educational toys from brands that may not be as well known. Brands like Learning Resources, Hape, and Fat Brain. Our goal is to get kids learning and developing skills through hands-on play, as well as spending a little less time in front of a screen and more time with face to face interaction. We also have a lot of science kits and books for kids of all ages. Our other major goal is to encourage more family time. We have board games and puzzles for ages ranging from early childhood all the way to adult. We have role playing games, trading card games,
arts & crafts, and imaginative play toys. All things meant to get kids and adults using their imaginations, playing together, and socializing. Our store is meant to give a sense of community to our community, and we hope we can be here for a long time to do just that.
