About Me

As a lifelong Silicon Valley, California resident, I'm proud to serve San Jose, CA and the surrounding areas as your local Farmers® agent. With over thirty years of industry experience, I help people like you get the best value for your insurance dollar, whether that's for auto, home, renters, or business insurance, in addition to specialty products like boats and motorcycles.

At the Greg Goodman Insurance Agency, we are proud to bring our unique expertise and care to you. Our customers are long-term clients who trust us, and we are happy to work with technology companies and engineers in the Silicon Valley. We are readily available, and we look forward to working with you to craft the right personalized coverage option.

Our agency has the expertise to help you better understand your coverage options. Feel free to stop by our office, which is conveniently located about three quarters of a mile east of eBay HQ, across Lee Avenue, on Hamilton Avenue.

Giving back is also important, I learned that from my parents, that's why I serve on the board of my Lions chapter in Almaden Valley and give time to my church on the buildings and grounds work committee. Finally, I have been affiliate of the year twice, where I also serve as the affiliate chair of the local chapter of Residential Property Managers. You can put your trust with me!

Give me a call at (408) 267-5502 and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Serving my local community with one of my fellow Lions who I deeply admire, at our local community San Jose Blind Center. Check out our website which I have linked below and like us on Facebook!

This is just one event that my wife, kids and I are part of with the Lions. Although it is my second favorite! My favorite? The fish a thon at the Stevens Creek rock quarry, where over a hundred people gather with our special needs community to fish for big rainbow trout!

This is an event I am so proud to be part of! Cupertino Hosts Lions gets Stevens Creek Quarry for the day. The quarry shuts down for the day at a huge cost for them just for this event. Thank you Stevens Creek Quarry! Kids and their families and or care givers get to enjoy a fun day of fishing.

Cupertino Hosts Lions buys about 5,000 pound of trout from the Mount Lassen Fishery. So if you have a special family that would like to attend drop me a line.

Should I have it? If you have over $200,000 in equity in your home and you live within 50 miles of the coast, yes you should in my humble opinion. Through the CEA the cost is very affordable, and the CEA since it is bankrolled by the carries, the policy holders and the State is also extremely solvent! The deductible. typically it sis 15% but you can buy down of the dwelling amount. So a dwelling insured for $500,000 would have a deductible of $75,000. However did you know that if you suffered a partial covered loss of $300,000 in earthquake damage, the CEA pays your contractor the first construction dollar up to $225,000. 75 (ded) -300 (loss) =225,000 in payment. It is a lot easier to get a contractor when you have the cash to start, plus if declared a disaster by a federal agency the Small Business Association through FEMA will in most cases give you an interest free loan!

Farmers rates are competitive when you bundle your home and auto. We are not the cheapest, but our claims team is outstanding. And I as an agent will make sure you are properly insured!

Sometimes rates go up if you turn in a auto claim and per prop 103 more than 50% liable.
Homeowners claims that are "Acts of God" i.e. a "windstorm" are not chargeable.

The rates do not always go down as your car gets older, because the labor rates to fix your car have gone up. Also the medical costs in your area may have gone up as well which impacts the liability side of the policy.

You should carry collision coverage if the actual cash value of your car is over $5,000 to replace.

Depends, your coverage that you carry with Farmers "extends" to the rental car aa long as the car is rented in USA or its territories, and you are not ride sharing. So if your on say a business trip in Chicago and you rent a car at O Hare airport your covered. Just make sure your car with Farmers has collision coverage!
