Hello, My name is Steven Wilson and I am the owner of The Wilson Insurance Agency located in North County San Diego. I run the Agency with my father, Hal Wilson. The agency has been in the family for over 30 years locally. I have been part of the agency for the last 7 years, getting my start right after I graduated from the University of California Riverside with a degree in Political Science and Business. I became an agent after working for a local City Councilman for the area and helping my father's clients and constituents of our district after the devastating wildfires of 2007. I have been married for the past 2 years to my wife, Gabrielle, we met at UC Riverside, and she currently works for the UC San Diego Health System in Strategic Planning and Business Development. We recently had our first child, Benjamin "Benny" in April of 2014. We live in the neighboring community of 4S Ranch just minutes from our office. I strive to help give my clients the best service and proper coverage for their specific needs. The challenge of the Golf Marathon is to play more than 100 holes of golf and raise sponsorships that help children get mentors at Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County. While playing 100 holes is no "walk in the park," the day is filled with plenty of things that make for a good time. You get to play on a spectacular course all day with your friends and fellow marathoners. Our mission is to improve the lives of children by creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships with proven results. These mentoring relationships have been occurring in San Diego since 1961, but as recently as 2003, only 300 children per year were receiving mentors. Big Brothers Big Sisters has grown tremendously to serve more than 1,700 kids in 2014 alone. Our 20th year of the golf marathon raised over $165,000. Our event is held every year at the prestigious Rancho Bernardo Inn Resort and Spa. As an annual member of the event I am proud to be a part of such a great organization.
