About Cathy Peterson

Born and raised in California, I'm proud to serve Poway and all of California, as your local Farmers Insurance® agent. My father founded this agency in 1991, and I have been in the industry since 1997. Now, my son is a member of our staff, so insurance runs in our family! In the years I've spent living here, we have seen a few wild fires and being involved in the Community helped a lot of people during that difficult time. We can take care of your Life Insurance, Home, Auto, Umbrella, Recreational vehicles, Pet Insurance, the list goes on.

At Farmers we also offer some professional discounts, the people on the front line, just to name a few.

I help customers like you identify the insurance coverage that best fits your needs. This process is straightforward and personalized to help make you smarter about insurance. I have the knowledge and experience to help you better understand your coverage options--whether that's Life, auto, home, renters, business insurance and more.

Our office is located in the center of Poway right next to Kaminski's BBQ.

Give me a call at (858) 748-3134 and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Ask me about

Your home represents a significant financial investment — protecting it takes careful research, and I can help as you choose the coverage you want. Our agency emphasizes having at least $500,000 in liability coverage so you can have peace of mind when it comes to protecting your home and its assets.

Farmers has recently added newly available endorsements for home policies including service line coverage, backup sewer and drain, and mold coverage. Service line coverage is to protect against a leak, break, tear, rupture, or collapse of a covered service line to your home.

We also offer limited mold coverage at an additional premium, which entails remediation of the covered loss of your belongings when they are damaged by mold.

Given that water-related damage can occur, it's important to make sure that you understand what is and isn't covered under your current policy. If you have questions or want to learn about available insurance options, a conversation with me about your potential risk might be beneficial so you can get the coverage you want.

The personalized service that comes with your Farmers homeowners coverage might be the best recommendation for adding a Farmers auto policy to your insurance portfolio. When you purchase an additional policy, you might also qualify for a multi-line discount.

When it comes to life insurance, there’s no such thing as “one size fits all.” Everyone has different needs, goals, and financial considerations. That’s why coverage comes in a variety of forms, with a range of features you can tailor to your unique situation:

Your family is young and growing, so you may be juggling a mortgage, auto loans, and childcare costs. While your expenses may continue to expand over time, you may want an affordable life insurance policy that helps you plan for your family’s financial future until the kids are grown and the house is paid off.

You’re more established in life. In addition to providing a death benefit to your beneficiaries, you may leverage the loan* or partial surrender features of certain policies to help support things like supplemental retirement income, caring for a family member with a disability, or preparing for eventual estate taxes.

You’re single and have no children. The death benefit proceeds from your life insurance policy may help support obligations such as the costs of your personal debts, medical bills, or final expenses — and may also help leave a legacy to someone you love or a favorite charity.

Feel free to give us a call to discuss any and all of your life insurance needs and please feel free to check out the Farmers Insurance Life Compass by clicking the link below!

*Cash values may be accessible through policy loans. Policy loans that are not repaid and partial surrenders will reduce cash surrender value and death benefit. Policy loans are subject to interest charges. If your policy is a modified endowment contract, loans and surrenders may incur taxes and penalties.

Farmers has spent the last 60 years getting to know outdoor enthusiasts. From boats, personal watercraft and off-road vehicles to motor homes, travel trailers and 5th wheels, we have an array of specialized coverage options. Call me today for more information. We will find the coverage that best fits your needs

Farmers has many coverage options designed for restaurateurs — including:

-Equipment breakdown coverage can help when covered equipment failure causes damage or lost income.

-Spoilage insurance can help if food spoils when a refrigerator breaks or the power goes out.
-Food contamination shut down insurance can help with income lost when you’re forced to close for contamination — and it may even assist with the costs of complying with required fixes.
-Business auto insurance can help with the cost of repairs and medical care when your delivery vehicle or food truck is responsible for an accident.

Additionally, a workers’ compensation policy can address medical care and lost income for your employees, death benefits for survivors, and your potential liability for covered claims.

Farmers work with you to reduce costs and improve recovery times — by making quick contact with an injured employee and using excellent medical providers for a specific injury or illness.
