2. Make sure you have an emergency kit at home so that you always have the supplies you need in the event you have to evacuate or the power goes out for an extended period.
3. Keep walkways free and clear of ice and debris to prevent tripping and falling outside the home.
4. Ensure that carpets are properly flush with the floor to prevent hazards inside.
5. Make sure that your stove hood and exhaust pipes do not have significant buildups of grease and oil to increase safety in the kitchen.
